A week ago I had an HP fandom nightmare. I wanted to post on my journal that my interest in HP had waned and I wanted to take a break. But I couldn't! Because I was signed up for some kind of fest and had art to do. Not just art either, but shady, high rated art which is my absolute least favorite to draw. This falls into my 'omg I have a test I didn't study for' dream archetype. Very sad.

But the point is: If I'm having nightmares about fandom, that's definitely in the category of bad signs (along with other omens like birds flying into the house and tofu cheese not being able to support mold life).

I'm not planning on deleting my journal or anything. I'd miss all you guys ♥. It does mean I might make more inane posts but I'm not feeling too guilty about that any more because it looks like most of my flist isn't posting HP stuff either.

1. There will totally be some new art on the 14th! I did my first pic for big_bang_hd already and I've planned my second. I hope I have time to finish.

2. I've developed a few new word choice nitpicks which I discovered last week while reading fics. There was one description of breathing where my first reaction was, tube him Draco! He's having a pneumothorax! And I noticed a couple of arrythmias, too. So it's official. School has messed me up in the head.

I AM NOT BIASED! I SWEAR. THIS IS AMAZING SNACO.
It's intense and visceral and so, so beautiful. Honestly, there are sentences in there that I had to read like, 4 times before I even finished the first read through. And believe me there will be more read throughs.

JUST LOOK: It is difficult to be loud when one cannot utter a word, difficult to be clear when one must speak in the language of serpents, blurring sibilance concealing true meaning and forked tongue speaking double-faced facts, never revealing one's true intent until prey is caught firmly amidst twining crushing coils.

1. Instead of posing an "I'm back and will catch up with your journals" message and then abandoning my journal for weeks and weeks like I did last time I decided to do everything backwards.

So...I'm all caught up on my flist! Well, about 2-3 weeks caught up. I can't really go back farther than that. As I suspected, you are all still fabulous.

2. But where is the art, you ask? I drew some and it's shady. Of course it was for merry_smutmas so you have to wait until December to see it and it will be "anonymous" (actually you will all know and marvel at how predictable I am. You'll be like, that puppet, so obvious). Artists are way too easy to guess.

3. House. I am completely obsessed with this show. Damn you lizardspots. Damn you. It's helping me with pharmacology, though. Have you got an arrhythmia? Adenosine intravenously for rate control. Follow by amiodarone. Epi for anaphylactic shock. Don't OD on your digoxin. They teach me this in school and then the TV tells me the same thing. Amazing! Let's just ignore his horrible patient interaction skills and poor diagnostic practices.

Oh yeah, and House/Wilson. They are so slashy it's almost heavy handed. *basks in 'new fandom to which I cannot contribute in any way' glow*

You know the Goyle, Draco and that other boy what's his name picture from GOF (saw it on marksykins journal)? Yeah. There obviously needs to be more Goyle/Draco.

More specifically, there needs to be a 500 word (minimum) meditation on Goyle tying Draco's tie. I'd read it. I'm certainly not going to write it but it could go like:

Goyle has practiced a hundred times, but this long, fragile neck is nothing like his own and his hands are sweaty as they grip the green silk below Draco's chin. He brushes against collar bones, pushes into hollows, and hits jawline. Maybe he could make up for clumsy fingers if he was focused and methodical, but the movement of Draco's throat with each swallow is a constant distraction. Goyle imagines that the skin is hiding some living thing which has a black and white plate in a textbook and a long name only Granger can pronounce on the first try. Cricoid Cartilage. Laryngeal Prominence. Sternocleidomastoid. It burrows deep into the body at the base of the neck. Hurry up, Goyle, vibrates through his fingers and the breath that accompanies the words is hot and moist against his forehead. He drops the silk. ...repeat as necessary.

And that's it. Seriously, because clumsy Goyle taking care of a delicate and generally useless Draco is just so damn hot. Also, Sternocleidomastoid is the sexiest muscle name ever and I needed an excuse to use it in a journal entry.
